OUR STORY
A Beacon of Hope in Kibera
Bright Star Children Centre was founded with a passion for transforming the lives of vulnerable children living in Kibera.
Recognizing the challenges many children face—including poverty, food insecurity, lack of educational resources, and limited opportunities—we established a safe and nurturing environment where children can access quality education, nutritious meals, clothing assistance, mentorship, and emotional support.
What began as a small initiative has grown into a community-driven centre that continues to impact the lives of children and families every day. Through collaboration with sponsors, donors, volunteers, and community partners, we are helping children discover their potential and pursue a brighter future.
OUR HISTORY
Bright Star Children Centre was born in 2012 out of a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children living in Kibera. What started as a small initiative to support a few children with education, meals, and necessities gradually grew into a community-focused centre serving children and families in need.
Over the years, we have witnessed countless stories of resilience, hope, and transformation. Through the support of generous donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, the centre has expanded its programs to provide education support, feeding initiatives, clothing assistance, mentorship, girls’ empowerment programs, and family outreach services.
Today, Bright Star Children Centre continues to serve as a safe haven where children are nurtured, encouraged, and equipped with the tools they need to build brighter futures. While our journey has not been without challenges, our commitment to creating opportunities for every child remains stronger than ever.
